Answers:

  • In the wine world Old World refers to the countries that have been producing wine and where wine is deeply ingrained into the regions culture. Many countries in Europe, for example France, Italy, Spain and Germany, are considered Old World wine producers. On the other hand, New World refers to countries which have entered the wine world late in the game and by consequence are slightly more liberal (in my opinion)when producing wine. Examples of New World wine producers are New Zeland, United States and Australia. I hope this helps.
